As an award-winning political cartoonist, Chris Britt is serious about his job of making people laugh. His cartoons are syndicated by Creators News Service and distributed to over two hundred national and international clients, including the New York Times, Newsweek, USA Today, US News and World Report, Fox News, and MSNBC. They have also been published in numerous editions of Pelican’s Best Editorial Cartoons Series. For more than twenty years, Britt has covered major political conventions, elections, and events for newspapers across the country. He has worked as an on-staff editorial cartoonist for publications such as the Houston Post, the Seattle Times, and the Arizona Business Gazette, allowing him to accumulate a large fan base. A careful observer of the human condition, Britt creates work that deals with issues of morality in a funny and relatable way. After realizing that he had a gift for telling humorous and meaningful stories, Britt decided to pursue a career as a children’s book author and illustrator.
Britt has received multiple Press Club awards in several different states and was honored by the Society of Professional Journalists with a Sigma Delta Chi Award. He has also been named Cartoonist of the Year by the National Press Foundation in Washington, DC. With frequent appearances as a guest speaker on radio shows, Britt enjoys cracking people up while keeping them informed. He is a member of the Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators and the Association of American Editorial Cartoonists.
A master of both verbal and visual communication, Britt specializes in pairing striking images with thought-provoking words. When he can find a spare moment, he enjoys golfing and painting. He lives in Tacoma, Washington. |
