It’s a beautiful day to have a parade! At first, just one little mouse struts down the street, but he’s quickly joined by dancing squirrels, a goat with a tuba, crows in fancy hats, raccoons, cats, dogs, foxes, pigeons, and more. Sporting costumes and suits, animals of all shapes and sizes march round and round the square. Together, they make a beat no one can resist. You’ll want to put on your tutu, grab your tambourine, and start your own parade!
This playful story features gorgeous illustrations that twirl and romp across the pages. Riotous colors show off each animal’s fine duds and fancy feet. Groove, clop, stamp, and flap with these fun-loving critters up and down the street!
About the Author/Illustrator
Growing up in Cut Off, Louisiana, Alexis Braud was surrounded by storytelling. She still finds inspiration for her work in the characters and inherent mystery of the bayous, swamps, and fens that she calls home. Braud realized her calling to be an artist and earned her BA in visual art with a focus on painting and sculpture from Nicholls State University. The raconteuse enjoys crafting, cooking, exploring her Cajun culture, and learning the ropes on the small farm outside of Hammond, Louisiana, that she and her family call home.
