Appealing illustrations!

Britt’s illustrations are fantastic and appealing, with the larger-than-life beasts terrifying wide-eyed innocent bystanders. Bethann’s lying slobber and prominent eyebrows are nice touches, which demonstrate her roughness around the edges. Great illustrations go a long way in children’s literature; they’re maybe what makes a favorite a favorite.

The first book [Britt] wrote and illustrated, “Blabbering Bethann,” centers on a rude little girl fixated on getting the primo seat on the bus and the last cupcake in class. But then she realizes friendship is more important than things. The book is in part a commentary on American greed, but instead of hateful calls, this group of readers is responding with hugs.

Chris Britt has written a story for children which is humorous in parts but it definitely teaches a valuable lesson about friendship and making friends.

Bethann is bossy , loud, and expects to be in charge of everything. She wants to be first in line and take the last treat in class from another child. The other children are afraid of her, so consequently she has not friends.

I was impressed with the manner in which the author turned Bethann around . He helped her, through a dream, to see the error of her behavior and her attitude changes. She became a child with friends.

You will enjoy the creativity of Chris Britt and the detailed illustrations she produced for this story.
