About the Author/Illustrator
James Rice currently has more than a million and a half copies of his fifty-plus books in print—his most famous being the bestseller Cajun Night Before Christmas, in which Gaston the flying alligator was first introduced. When James Rice is not touring the country promoting his books, speaking to schoolchildren and teacher’s groups, or spending time with his seven grandchildren, he is working on new projects! He completed his MFA at Stephen F. Austin State University and also holds degrees in art from the University of Texas and Howard Payne College. Both his stories and his detailed illustrations continue to captivate readers of any age.
