Santasaurus
is coming to town, and Delano Holmquist is the one introducing this lovable
character to readers. The official keeper of Santa's “nice” list comes to
life through Holmquist's story SantaSaurus,
a tale about the true Holiday Spirit.
Born
in
Berlin
,
Germany
, Holmquist has always persisted in presenting positive messages to children
through educational programs and products. As a teenager, he worked with
Playwrights Lab in
Minnesota
, which led to both valuable experience and several scholarships.
While
attending
St. Cloud
State
University
, Holmquist accepted a job working for Antrim Bureau Productions in
Pennsylvania
, then moved back to
Minnesota
to work for the National Theatre for Children. Several years later, he
developed his own company, Performance Education Technology, Inc., of which he
serves as president.
Holmquist
says that his company's mission is to develop educational programs that will
encourage youth and provide positive messages. He follows this mission with SantaSaurus,
which he frequently reads to young audiences at stores, schools, and libraries.
Holmquist currently resides in
Garberville
,
California
, where he is working on a computer-literacy program for elementary schools. One
of his life ambitions is to sail around the world by the time he is sixty years
old.
