Gather ‘round and listen to the adventures of a frustrated cowboy and his stubborn steer, and how difficult it can be to get home for supper! This latest children’s book by Davis Davis is a hoot! It captures the cowboy’s world as well as the energy of an ornery longhorn in a fun-filled tale of a battle of the wills. When Zeke, an old Texas cowboy, is ready for a hot bowl of chili, he must first get his newly purchased steer into the corral. By enlisting the help of a host of colorful characters, he finally gets his dinner—but not without the possibility of the antics starting all over again! Told in the author’s inimitable native Texan voice, this humorous story makes for great read-aloud fun.
